个人简介
I am currently working as a Senior Lecturer in Inclusive Education at Macquarie University in Sydney. I have been involved in teacher education and teacher training in Special and Inclusive Education across different universities in Australia, namely, The University of Adelaide, Australian Catholic University (ACU) and Macquarie University. My Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) Reports conducted at Australian Universities demonstrate my strong potential for excellence in university teaching. My SET data has been consistently between 4 - 4.99 out of 5. I served in the role of the National Course Coordinator for the Graduate Certificate in Education/Educational Studies and Master of Education academic programs at ACU. This was a national role across six campuses providing leadership for a range of units/subjects within the academic programs.
I have worked in national and international research projects designed to improve the educational outcomes for students with special educational needs and disabilities. As part of my research achievements, I have won (as part of a team) and successfully completed two externally-funded research projects in Inclusive Education - one with the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) and the other with Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE). In 2019, I completed coding and analysis work in the Australia Research Council (ARC) funded iTEACH project, 'Engaging students from low socio-economic communities in the early years of secondary school' at the Institute for Positive Psychology and Education, Australian Catholic University (ACU). I am currently working in a research tender funded by the Australian Special Education Principals' Association (ASEPA). Post doctorate (2013-2020), I have published one sole-authored research book (with Springer publishers), three book chapters with high quality publishers (e.g., Springer and Palgrave Macmillan) and 21 international peer-reviewed journal articles in high impact publications (e.g., the International Journal of Inclusive Education, British Journal of Visual Impairment, Australasian Journal of Special Education and Disability Studies Quarterly).
I was the recipient of four research awards during my academic tenure which are listed below:
1. 'Outstanding Student Publication Award' in 2011 at the School of Education, University of Adelaide
2. 'Graduate Scholar Award in 2012 at the University of California, Los Angeles, U.S.A.
3. 'Research Capacity Building Award' in 2015 at the Australian Catholic University (ACU), for my active contribution to research in the discipline.
4. 'Outstanding Early Career Researcher Award' in 2016 nationally in the Faculty of Education and Arts (ACU) with strong research potential (25k DVCR Award).
