Bio
Dr. Pierre Barralon, received in 2005 the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Joseph Fourier University, Grenoble, France on human kinematic data processing for nomad activity monitoring (postural transition, walking, fall). Between 2005 and 2008, he was Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia, Canada, working on experimentation and design of passive tactile displays for monitoring patient’s physiological parameters in anaesthesia and critical care. In 2008 he joined Tecnalia to develop innovative embedded sensing techniques for monitoring postural stability. He recently submitted a European patent application related to “method and system for functional balance assessment and training”. He has several ISI publications and now participating in the European NIMA(FETOPEN-01-2018-2019-2020), EUROBENCH (H2020-ICT-2017-1), WEARPLEX (ICT-02-2018) projects, and was involved in ACTIVAGE (H2020-IOT-2016), WITH-ME (ARTEMIS Call 2012 ASP2), AHEAD (AAL-2012-5), BALANCE (FP7-ICT-2011-9) and SARAFUN (H2020-ICT-2014-1) projects. Since 2013 he is reviewer of the journals IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, and MDPI-Sensors.
