Bio
Peter Wild received the B.A.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of British Columbia in 1983, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Victoria in 1994. For his Ph.D. dissertation he received the Governor General’s Gold Medal. He was with the industry for six years.
His first academic appointment was with Queen’s University, Kingston, ON, in 1996. In 2003, he returned to the University of British Columbia to take up a position with the University of Victoria. He has authored over 70 papers in peer-reviewed journals, three of which have been recognized with awards. His research areas of research include sensors for industrial and biomedical applications, renewable energy generation technologies, and energy systems analysis. He has presented over 70 papers at technical conferences. He is a Co-Inventor of six patents for which he received the 2008 Entrepreneurship Award by the Innovation and Development Corporation of the University of Victoria.
