PD. Dr. med. Peter Tinnemann, DTM&MP, MPH
is a public health consultant (Facharzt für Öffentliches Gesundheitswesen) and serves as the director (Amtsarzt) of the public health authority (Gesundheitsamt) of the city of Frankfurt am Main. Before his current appointment he lead the public health authority of the local county (Landkreis) Dahme-Spreewald and Nordfriesland.
Additionally he is a visiting scientist at the global health science unit of the Institute of Social Medicine, Epidemiology and Health Economics (Institut für Sozialmedizin, Epidemiologie und Gesundheitsökonomie) of the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
His main research areas include Population Medicine, Global Public Health, Social Medicine, Access to Medicines, Neglected Tropical Diseases and Health in a Globalising World.
2022 Habilitation in Social Medicine and Epidemiology at the Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin, 2008 Master of Studies in Public Health at the University of Cambridge, 1999 Doctor of Medicine at the University of Hamburg and 1997 Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Medical Parasitology from the Bernhard Nocht Institute and Approbation by the Landesprüfungsamt für Heilberufe in Hamburg.
Before entering his current position in public health, he worked as a Public Health Specialist for the National Health Services in the United Kingdom, and in Germany in the Senatsverwaltung für Gesundheit und Soziales and various public health offices (Gesundheitsämter) in Berlin and Brandenburg.
His professional career includes more than 10 years international working experience with various humanitarian aid organisations, ranging from practicing paediatrics in low-resource settings to being in charge and managing medical aid projects.

ist Facharzt für Öffentliches Gesundheitswesen und arbeitet als Leiter (Amtsarzt) des Gesundheitsamtes der Stadt Frankfurt am Main. Vor seiner jetzigen Tätigkeit leitete er das Gesundheitsamt der Landkreise Dahme-Spreewald und Nordfriesland.
Zusätzlich ist er Gastwissenschaftler im Bereich Globale Gesundheitswissenschaften am Institut für Sozialmedizin, Epidemiologie und Gesundheitsökonomie der Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Bevölkerungsmedizin, Globale Öffentliche Gesundheit, Sozialmedizin, Zugang zu Medikamenten, vernachlässigte Tropenkrankheiten und Gesundheit in einer globalisierten Welt.
