个人简介
Peter Mackenzie-Helnwein joined the faculty at the University of Washington in 2003. Prior to this appointment he held a position as University Assistant with the Department of Civil Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology, Austria (1991-2002, since 1997 in the US equivalent rank of Assistant Professor).
His research focuses on numerical methods in continuum and fluid mechanics, with emphasis on Finite Elements, the Material Point Method, and the Discontinuous Galerkin Method. He has scientific contributions in nonlinear structural stability, analysis of composite structures at large deformations, thermo-visco-plastic constitutive modeling of wood subject to multi-axial loading, soil-structure interaction under liquefaction conditions, landslide modeling, and finite deformation particle simulations of saturated porous media.
