个人简介
An assistant professor (FOASS) at the Karolinska Institutet, Institute for Environmental Medicine (IMM). Areas: Toxicogenomics, Bioinformatics, Nanomedicine / Nanotoxicology, Cancer biology and Epigenetics / Gene Regulation. The general approach is to use pathway and gene signature-based approaches in a multivariate manner to understand and to predict, particularly from cell culture data, the toxicity of chemicals, nanomaterials and drugs. Data-derived quantitative Adverse Outcome Pathways (qAOPs) are an attractive approach to integrate biological knowledge with quantitative models in order to predict the toxicity-potential of agents from 3R, and particularly animal-free 1R, compatible data streams.
Biochemistry degree at the University of Cambridge, England (1998). Ph.D. at the University of Turku, Finland, on Immune Biology (transcription factors in B cells and plasma cells) and bioinformatics: microarray analysis, gene regulatory networks, phylogenetics, high-performance computing. Worked as a bioinformatician at the VTT Medical Biotechnology specializing in siRNA/miRNA/chemicals high-throughput screening integrative data analysis: R/Bioconductor suite, breast and prostate cancer and the integration of various high-throughput data sets including gene and miRNA expression and screening data.
