Bio
I hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and a certificate in Responsible Innovation from Arizona State University.
I also hold a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh.
I am currently an assistant clinical professor at the University of Maryland. Here I work as a faculty leader for The First-Year Innovation & Research Experience (FIRE) program.
Prior to the University of Maryland, I was a Research Physiologist at the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDs), where I use a variety of non-invasive clinical neurophysiological tools to understand both normal human voluntary movement and the pathophysiology of movement disorders.
In addition, I have interest in the intersection of science, technology, and society. I use science fiction as a platform to write and discuss ethical and scientific dimensions of relevant scientific topics.
