Bio
Patrick Kanold, a professor of biomedical engineering, studies how humans’ experience of and interactions with the world shape our brains and who we are. He investigates key questions of how neuronal circuits in the mammalian cortex function and develop. His work also furthers our understanding of how brain injury contributes to neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and schizophrenia and aims to improve clinical prevention and treatment.
