Bio
Paparao Palacharla (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, in 1986, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA, USA, in 1991. He is the Director of the Advanced Technology Laboratory, Fujitsu Network Communications, Richardson, TX, USA. Previously, he worked with National Research Council, Nortel Networks, Ottawa, ON, Canada, and Fujitsu Laboratories of America, Sunnyvale, CA, USA, in the areas of optical signal processing, optical interconnects and optical networking. His research interests include multilayer optical transport networks, SDN/NFV, 5G, and edge computing. He was on Technical Program Committees of OFC/NFOEC, GLOBECOM and other conferences.
