Bio
Panos' current research interests are focused on the structural health monitoring of civil engineer's structures using modern geodetic techniques, such as GNSS and Robotic Total Station (RTS), aiming to the determination of the displacement characteristics (static and dynamic) and the estimation of the modal frequencies. His research also includes the topic of combination and fusion of geodetic data with other sensors records, such as accelerometers, inclinometers etc. for more accurate estimation of the displacement time series and the development of methodologies and algorithms for their efficient and reliable fusion. Finally, the last years, his research is broadened to the topic of the GNSS seismology and the application of GNSS technology for the monitoring of geohazards (earthquakes and volcanoes), the introduction of GNSS in Earthquake Early Warning systems and the its supplementary use with traditional seismological sensors (seismometers, strong-motion sensors, etc.).
