In the context of Geoscience and data system, the research fields have concerned the structure of the Earth system and specifically addressed the quantitative analysis of the geodynamic processes that have characterized the evolution (past and present) of volcanic, seismogenic areas and regions in which geothermal resources are present. Specifically, these studies regarding the use of remote sensing techniques as the processing of differential interferometry data (InSAR) and their integration with GPS, EDM, leveling data, gravimetry, and tomographic information, for the multiscale numerical modeling of the ground deformation pattern in volcanic, geothermal and seismogenic areas. In this framework, particular interest was devoted to the development of quantitative methods of a physical, mathematical, and statistical tool to build up analytical and numerical models, for the interpretation and characterization of the sources that control short- and long-term evolution of geodynamic systems. In addition, the research activities have also been focused on the complete data fusion processes (CDF) of RADAR, Optical, and Thermal data acquired from several satellite platforms such as LANDSAT, SENTINEL, ASTER, and MODIS, as well as measurements carried out by new UAV platforms. The research activities were carried out thanks to the funding achieved from national and international projects.
