Bio
Pietro Siciliano received the degree in physics from the University of Lecce, Lecce, Italy, in 1985. He received the Ph.D. degree in solid state physics in 1989 from the University of Bari, Italy.
Initially, he was involved in research in the field of electrical characterization of semiconductors devices. Currently, he is a senior member of the National Council of Research (CNR), Italy, and Director of the Department of the Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems, Lecce, where he has been working for many years in the preparation and characterization of thin films for gas sensors, and where he is also in charge of the Sensors Group. He is author of about 170 scientific papers, in national and international journals, and many communications, and he has attended many international conferences. At the Institute for Microelectronic and Microsystems of the National Council of Research (IMM-CNR), Lecce, he is responsible for several national and international projects in the field of sensors and microsystems applications. He has been organizer and Chairman of conferences and Director of schools on sensors and microsystems. His recent activity is mainly devoted to innovative multisensing intelligent systems.
