个人简介
Philippa Olive in Senior Research Fellow in Trauma Informed Care, School of Nursing, University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and is lead for the joint Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LTHTR) and University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) Clinical Academic Faculty.
Philippa’s research in Trauma Informed Care developed from her practice as an adult and children’s emergency nurse caring for victims/survivors of violence and major trauma. Philippa’s research is framed through social determinants of health and wellbeing that aims to address health inequalities. Philippa is alumni of the NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship programme and since completing her PhD has grown a sound portfolio of applied health and social care research and innovation aimed at improving health outcomes and experiences. As a mixed-method researcher, Philippa has experience of undertaking and synthesising quantitative, qualitative, multi-method research along with integrative reviews of evidence.
Philippa’s has worked on NIHR, NIHR ARC NWC, NIHR National Priorities Programme for Adult Social Care and Social Work, Research England, The Home Office, General Nursing Council, NHS England and Improvement, European Institute for Gender Equality and European Parliament funded projects. She has delivered invited papers for British Islands and Mediterranean Region Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (BIMR CWP) Conference, British Council Newton Fund Research Links Workshop and UN ESCWA (United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia) / UNFPA Expert Group Meeting. Philippa has well established partnership-working relationships with practitioners and researchers in her fields of study and is an active member of interpersonal violence, major trauma, and trauma informed care research networks. Philippa has been invited onto expert panels at national and international level and is an expert reviewer for the European Commission and UK Funding Bodies. In addition to over 20 peer reviewed articles and research reports, Philippa is co-author of two books. She reviews for several journals and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Nursing.
In her role as Strategic Lead for the LTHTR/UCLan Clinical Academic Faculty, Philippa has supported many nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals to take their first steps into research and is supervisor to early career clinical academic researchers undertaking HEE / NIHR ICA, NIHR ARC NWC, LTHTR and UCLan funded internships and fellowships. As well as being Research Degrees Tutor for the School of Nursing, Philippa has supervised three doctoral students to PhD completion and is currently supervising four doctoral students.
