Bio
Patrick J. Turner received the B.Sc. degree in physics from McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada, in 1997 and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, BC, Canada, in 1999 and 2005, respectively.
At UBC, he developed novel low-temperature microwave techniques for probing the physics of high-Tc and heavy-fermion superconductors. He was awarded the Canadian National NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship from 2005 to 2007 and worked with David Broun at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby BC, where he extended microwave surface impedance methods down to 50 mK and up to 1-T magnetic fields. In 2007, he joined Superconductor Technologies, Inc., Santa Barbara, CA, USA, focused on high-performance RF filter products for commercial cell phone base-stations and government systems. While at STI, he was responsible for developing a surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter design capability. In 2012, this became the core technology upon the foundation of Resonant, Inc., Santa Barbara. He is currently a VP of advanced engineering with Resonant, Inc. He has coauthored more than 30 technical articles. He holds five issued U.S. patents.
