个人简介
Paolo F. Nichelli is a retired Full Professor of Neurology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Clinical Director of the Neuroscience Department at the Sant'Agostino-Estense Modena Hospital. He graduated in Medicine at the University of Milan in 1973. In 1974 he was appointed medical assistant of the Neurology Department of the Modena Hospital. From 1977 to 1986 he was Assistant Professor and from 1986 to 2001 Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Modena. In November 2001, he was appointed Full Professor of Neurology. He has been Dean of the Medical School of University of Modena and Reggio Emilia duringa the years 2013-14. In 1992-93 he was "Visiting Scientist" at the Cognitive Neuroscience Section (chief: dr. Jordan Grafman), NINDS, N.I.H., Bethedsa, MD (USA). From the very beginning his research was focused on clinical and experimental neuropsychology. While in the United States he became interested in functional neuroimaging techniques, including Positron Emission Tomography and Functional Magnetic Resonance. Back in Modena he has promoted and organized the local functional neuroimaging center. He has published more than 160 papers and chapters, mostly on peer reviewed scientific journals. He is or has been member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journals Cortex, Acta Neuropsychologica, Functional Neurology, and Problemi di Psichiatria. He has been President of the Italian Neuropsychological Society from 2001 to 2005. During his terms he has organized the first Congress of the European Neuropsychological Society, which brought to Modena more than 600 delegates from all the European nations.
