Peter Culmer (Member, IEEE) is an Associate Professor with the University of Leeds, where he leads the Healthcare Mechatronics Research Group. His research focuses on the development of sensing and instrumentation technology and their application to address global healthcare challenges, with a particular focus on under-represented groups and conditions, including diabetic foot assessment and provision of global surgery. In addition, he is a Representative of the National Institute of Health Research Surgical MedTech Cooperative, and a Committee Member of the U.K. IMechE Biomedical Engineering Division.
