Research summary
Oscar Brousse is a post-doctoral research fellow at the IEDE working on the impact of urban heat on urban health under the Health and Economic impacts of Reducing Overheating in Cities (HEROIC) project led by Clare Heaviside. He recently finished his PhD in geography at the KU Leuven in Belgium, where he focused his research on the effects of urban climates on malaria in Sub-Saharan Africa. This super region, often neglected in urban climate studies, is where Oscar likes to focus his research. He has a keen interest in new technologies and citizen science to overcome data scarcity in major cities of the world and study the impacts of their urban climates. His efforts made use of satellite remote sensing techniques as well as urban climate models, in particular. He is also a main contributor to the WUDAPT project (http://wudapt.org).
