个人简介
Mr Oluwatosin is a doctoral researcher at the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistical Applied Mathematics at the University of Bath. His research interest spans across Numerical analysis, Mathematical biology, Financial mathematics, Dynamical systems and Climate modelling. Before embarking on a PhD research, he has successfully completed multiple master’s degrees in diverse area of mathematical sciences. Presently, he is embarking on an interdisciplinary research where he utilises his mathematical skills to tackle industrial and environmental based problems. His PhD research focuses on the analysis and applications of time-delayed systems to understand the effects of climate change on Agriculture. In particular, he is using a mathematical model to track the impact of time lag between the flowering and harvesting stage of the cocoa crop and aim to establish how cocoa trees will behave in the near future as atmospheric temperatures continue to rise due to climate change. Prior to this, he is one of the African Union Commission scholar at the Pan African University where he investigated the novel numerical approach for pricing the so-called exotic options with a particular application to the barrier options. Furthermore, he is an alumnus of the premier institute for mathematically talented African students - the African Institute for Mathematical Science (AIMS) as part of the Next Einstein Initiatives and also an alumnus of the Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF) - a forum comprises of talented young researchers across the globe and the laureates. Finally, his academic journey commence from his home country - Nigeria where he graduated with first class honour during his bachelor's programme and Distinction for the MSc degree - both from University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
