Bio
Ole Henrik Waagaard was born in Hønefoss, Norway, in 1975. He received the Civ. Ing. degree in physical electronics in 1998 from the Norwegian University of Technology and Science (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway, where he is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in spatial characterization of fiber Bragg gratings and interrogation of optic sensors.
During 1998 and 1999, he was with the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment, working with fiber-optic hydrophones. In 2000 and 2001, he was with Department of Physical Electronics, NTNU. Since 2001, he has been with Optoplan AS, Trondheim, Norway, where he is working with fiber-optic instrumentation for the oil and gas industry. His research interests include fiber-optic sensor systems, fiber-optic sensors, characterization and synthesis of fiber Bragg gratings, inverse scattering algorithms, and polarization in optical fibers.
