个人简介
Born on January 1, 1986 in Pobè in the Plateau Department in the Republic of Benin, AMOGOU Olaréwadjou holds a Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences with a Biochemistry option (2009) and a Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Applications (2013) all obtained at the University of Abomey-Calavi in the Republic of Benin.
In 2014, he joined the Laboratory of Biology and Molecular Typing in Microbiology of the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Abomey-Calavi. Thanks to an agreement signed in 2015 between his laboratory and the National Institute of Agricultural Research of Benin (INRAB), AMOGOU Olaréwadjou pursued his doctoral studies and obtained his PhD in Biochemistry and Biotechnology in 2020 after four years of research on the theme "the effect of inoculation of native PGPR Rhizobacteria from ferruginous soils on germination, growth and yield of maize (Zea mays L.) in Central and Northern Benin".
After his thesis, he continued his postdoctoral research at the Laboratoire de Biologie et de Typage Moléculaire en Microbiologie in collaboration with INRAB. TWAS, through its "TWAS-SISSA-Lincei Research Cooperation Visit Programme" has just awarded him a 3-month postdoctoral fellowship at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) during this year 2022.
His research work is mainly focused on the study of bacteria with beneficial potentials for plants in view of their use as Biostimulants or Biopesticides in agriculture. My research team is also interested in the production of chitosan from the exoskeletons of water crabs (Callinectes amnicola) and land crabs (Cardisoma armatum) for use alone or in combination with rhizobacteria as biostimulants to improve productivity and increase crop yields in Benin while reducing the use of chemical fertilizers. He is also involved in research on the valorization of Arbuscular Mycohorizal Fungi (AMF) as biostimulants isolated from the maize rhizosphere in Benin. He is the author and co-author of 16 scientific papers at the international level. In addition, he has made several scientific communications at national and international level. His objective is to contribute to the promotion of sustainable agriculture and consequently to the improvement of the income of producers and the well-being of the population in general.
