Obed works around Cancer Immunotherapy where he applies the concept of T cell receptor's ability to recognize cancer biomarkers posing as peptide antigens on antigen presentation cells via major histocompatibility complex. Obed is able to re-engineer T cells to specifically kill cancer. He previously worked on carcinogenic mycotoxins that affects staples, he also worked at the pharmaceutical microbiology unit of the FDA, Ghana which is an ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 testing and calibration laboratory. He also gathered experience with at MDS-Lancet laboratory, an ISO/IEC 15189: 2012 Medical laboratory., which is a medical diagnostic laboratory. Obed has hands on experience in the biotechnological research & industry by interning at the Biotechnology and Nucleic Agricultural Research Institute (BNARI) of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) and also at the Biotechnology laboratory at Savanna Agricultural Research Institutes (SARI) of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Obed currently through his graduate studies is currently working at the Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health, where he is trying to come out with human naive cell libraries that have the potential to isolate antigen specific T cell receptors that may have immense anti-tumor efficacy via TCR-T technology.
