Bio
Nuno Gonçalves (Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in computer vision from the University of Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal, in 2008.
Since 2008, he has been a Tenured Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Sciences and Technologies, University of Coimbra, where he is currently a Senior Researcher with the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR). He has been recently coordinating several projects centered on the technology transfer to the industry. In 2018, he joined Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office (INCM), Lisbon, Portugal, where he coordinates innovation projects in areas, such as biometrics, facial recognition, morphing attack detection, graphical security, security coding, and robotics. He has been working in the design and introduction of new products as a result of the innovation projects. He is the author of several papers and communications in high-impact journals and international conferences. His scientific career has been mainly developed in the fields of computer vision, visual information security, biometrics, computer graphics, and robotics.
