Bio
Normaz Wana Ismail is an Associate Professor in economics at School of Business and Economics (formerly known as Faculty of Economics and Management), Universiti Putra Malaysia. She was the Deputy Director of the Institute of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia for five years. She received her PhD in Economics from University of Southampton, United Kingdom. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Macroeconomics, International Trade and Research Methodology. More than 40 postgraduate students have graduated under her supervision (main supervisor) which includes 22 PhDs, 4 Master of Science, Master of Economics and MBAs.
Her research interests include ASEAN studies, particularly issues related to intra regional trade, trade facilitation, and economic growth. Current research interest in international economics are mainly focus in the use of gravity model in international trade including trade relationship with free trade agreement, innovation, infrastructure and other trade costs. She has published more than 90 articles in refereed journals, books and chapters in books and presented over 20 papers at national and international conferences.
