Bio
Norbert Braunschweiler received the M.A. degree in physics and German language and literature from the University of Konstanz, Germany in 1994, and the Ph.D. degree in applied linguistics from the University of Konstanz, Germany, in 2003. From 2000 to 2003, he was with the Institute of Natural Language Processing (IMS) at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, as a Research Engineer in the SMARTKOM project. In 2004, he worked for Rhetorical Systems Ltd, in Edinburgh, Scotland, as a Research Engineer. Since 2005, he has been a Senior Research Engineer in the Speech Technology Group at Toshiba Research Europe Ltd, Cambridge Research Laboratory, in Cambridge, UK. His research interests include human-technology interaction, speech synthesis, expressive speech recognition and synthesis, automatic detection of prosodic cues and phonetics.
