Bio
Noelia studied Biology (Industrial and Food Microbiology) at the Universitat de Barcelona, Spain. She received her PhD from the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC) and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2014) where she worked on the study of sex ratio determination in fish with special emphasis on its environmental regulation, the molecular mechanisms implicated in sex differentiation and its applications to aquaculture. After her PhD, Noelia joined as a postdoctoral fellow the lab of Dr Juan M. Vaquerizas at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine (2014-2021) in Münster, Germany. There, she has focused on the effects of the 3D chromatin conformation on gene regulation during development, evolution and disease using both experimental and computational methods. Since January 2022, she is a Severo Ochoa Fellow at the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC) leading a project on the epigenetic effects of climate change on fish development.
