个人简介
A plant geneticist by subject and having core interest in Rice Genetics and Breeding.
Currently, I am working at ICAR-Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Regional Research Station, Canning Town, West Bengal, India. My area of studies are salinity tolerance, arsenic toxicity tolerance, low arsenic uptake rice, submergence tolerance, lodging tolerance and anaerobic germination in rice. My specific interests are in understanding the genetics of these traits and breeding rice varieties suitable for coastal regions of India. Currently, I am utilizing QTL mapping, Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and Meta-QTL analysis to dissect genetics of these traits in rice landraces. I am also working on rice improvement for above mentioned traits using classical breeding techniques. In near future, I will be utilizing methods such as Marker Assisted Back cross breeding (MABB) and Genomic Selection (Whole genome based & Haplotype based) for rice improvement.
