个人简介
am currently a Research Fellow in the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton, UK. In general, my research interests spans the broad area of Distributed AI; specifically Multi-Agent Systems, Autonomic Computing, and Optimisation Algorithms. More specifically, my main focus is to research and develop novel algorithms and techniques and incorporate them within intelligent distributed computing systems. The various challenges that might arise in engineering such applications motivates and drives my work.
In Southampton, I currently coordinate the Hyperion project. The project is funded by the DIF-DTC initiative by the Defence Technology Centre, UK and is conducted in collaboration with British Telecom. Labs, Imperial College, QinetiQ, and General Dynamics, UK. In particular, here I investigate the use of Self-Organisation and Self-Healing behaviour in Multi-agent Systems.
From an academic point of view, I completed a Ph.D at Southampton University researching on how agents can use complex argumentation dialogues to resolve computation conflicts within multi-agent systems. My first degree is in engineering where I obtained a first class honours with a specialisation in computer science and engineering. I have a strong mathematical background having achieved the best performance award from my college during my A/L studies.
From a software engineering point of view, I am an accomplished developer with over eight years of work experience. Before starting my Ph.D. I worked as a software engineer at BT Intelligent Systems Lab, UK, and prior to that as a trainee IT consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sri Lanka. I have experience in an array of software engineering projects and have a strong object oriented programming and design background. I have a keen interest in all things JAVA, multi-threaded implementations in particular.
