Bio
Sivaram Nishal Ramadas was born in India. He earned his B.E. degree from Bangalore University (India) and his M.Sc./Ph.D. degrees from Strathclyde University (Scotland). Dr. Ramadas, Chief Ultrasonic Engineer at Elster NV/SA, leads advanced transducer design and development activities within his company, primarily for ultrasonic industrial flow measurement application area. Recently, Dr. Ramadas has joined the University of Warwick (England) full-time for two years, as a Marie Curie Research Fellow (secondment from industry). Within this new role, Dr. Ramadas is leading research activities into novel air-coupled ultrasonic transducers and array design/fabrication work and to set up a new flow measurement laboratory at Warwick University. Prior to joining Elster, Dr. Ramadas held postdoctoral research positions at the Institute for Sound and Vibration Research at the University of Southampton and the Centre for Ultrasonic Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. His primary research interests include application-specific ultrasonic transducer design/fabrication, industrial ultrasonic flow measurement (liquid and gas), digital signal/image processing techniques, and software development.
