Bio
Ning Deng (SM'13) received the B.Eng. degree in electronics
engineering and information science from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, in 2002, and
the Ph.D. degree in information engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shatin, Hong Kong, in 2007. He
is currently a Senior Engineer in the Networks Research Department, Huawei, China. He leads the standard work related
to optical transport networks. During 2008–2009, he was a Senior Engineer with Perception Digital, Ltd., Hong
Kong. He has authored or coauthored around 40 papers in referred international conferences and journals, and has more
than 20 patents granted or pending. His research interests include all optical switching network, optical monitoring,
and optical technologies for mobile applications. He is the Editor of ITU-T Recommendations.
