个人简介
Niladri Talukder is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), New Jersey, United States. He joined the Advanced Energy Systems and Microdevices (AESM) Laboratory at NJIT in the Fall of 2020. As the primary research focus, he is working on a project to develop non-Platinum group metal (PGM) graphene-based nanomaterials to apply them as advanced catalysts in electrochemical energy systems and electrochemical synthesis processes, electrode materials for biosensing for rapid disease detection. He is also involved in the research on developing microfluidic-based point-of-care (POC) diagnostics devices. Material characterization methods such as XPS, XRD, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, and Particle size analyzer are among his expertise. He also works on multiple projects of AESM laboratory collaborated with the Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), NY, USA through user facilities.
Prior to joining at AESM laboratory at NJIT, he earned his MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Andong National University (ANU), South Korea. During his MS studies, he worked as a graduate research assistant at the Combustion Laboratory at ANU. There he experimentally studied alcohol and biodiesel-based alternative fuel properties such as laminar flame speeds, Markstein length, etc. He is well equipped with handling sophisticated and highly sensitive experimental tools like high-pressure control volume combustion chambers (CVCC), optical measurement systems, controlled combustion systems, etc. His research findings are published in different international journals.
