个人简介
Neslihan Dogan has been an associate professor in Materials Science and Engineering at
McMaster University since 2013. She currently holds the Stelco Endowed Chair in
Sustainable Steel production. She completed her undergraduate degree in Chemical
Engineering from Yıldız Technical University, Turkey, and received her Ph.D. from
Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. She worked as a postdoctoral fellow at
the University of Wollongong, Australia.
Dr. Dogan research interests lie in the area of process metallurgy. Her research focuses
on the kinetics and thermodynamics of chemical reactions in steelmaking processes
using the modeling and high-temperature experimental techniques. Her team is
currently investigating ways to develop new strategies and high-performance process
tools for ironmaking and primary steel production to decarbonise the steel industry and
guide industrial process engineers to meet the market demand sustainably. She has
received the 2022 AIST Specialty Alloy & Foundry Best Paper Award, the 2019 AIST Kent
Peaslee Award, and the EPD (Extraction and Processing Division) Young Leaders
Professional Development Award in 2018. She has published 44 articles in international
peer-reviewed journals and contributed to more than 70 academic and technical
presentations at conferences and symposiums.
