个人简介
Dr Navid Kashaninejad received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. After winning the prestigious SINGA scholarship from the Singapore Agency for Science, Research and Technology (A*STAR), he completed his PhD studies in 2013 under the supervision of Professor Nam-Trung Nguyen at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. During his PhD studies, he mainly focused on the design and fabrication of various microfluidic devices and fundamentally investigated the fluid mechanics of flow through microchannels. In particular, he introduced a new parameter, termed eccentricity, that could alter the contact angle and drag reduction capabilities of superhydrophobic microchannels. In 2016, he was selected as a distinguished scientist from INEF and awarded a full scholarship and research funding to pursue postdoctoral studies at Sharif University of Technology. He also has over two years of experience as a postdoctoral researcher at Griffith University and the University of Technology Sydney.
Dr Kashaninejad has demonstrated high-quality multidisciplinary research output in microfluidics, especially in organ-on-a-chip and disease modelling. This has resulted in over 40 high-quality papers in top-ranked interdisciplinary journals including ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, Advanced Materials Technologies, Advanced Materials Interfaces, Langmuir, Soft Matter, Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, Drug Delivery and Translational Research, Biomicrofluidics, Advanced BioSystems, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, Physics of Fluids, etc. He also published a first-author book chapter, entitled “Biological Diagnosis Based on Microfluidics and Nanotechnology” in the recent Wiley book “Nanotechnology and Microfluidics” [Online ISBN:978352781834]. His publications have been featured on the cover images of Micromachines, Advanced BioSystems and Advanced Materials Technologies. His work in microfluidics for assisted-reproductive technology became one of the top-cited articles in the recent publication history of Advanced BioSystems.
Dr Kashaninejad is the invited reviewer for more than 20 journals and has reviewed over 100 papers (Publon verified). He is in the reviewer board of Micromachines journal (impact factor: 2.426) and Guest Editor of Special Issue of Sensors journal (impact factor: 3.031), entitled Microfluidic Sensors 2020.
