Bio
Natasha Fernandez received the B.S. degree in biology from Florida International University, Miami, FL, USA, in 2010.
During her undergraduate studies, she worked with the Laboratory of Dr. Lidia Kos, Miami, where she investigated the role of melanocytes in the murine and non-human primate (NHP) cardiac valves. From 2014 to 2016, she worked with the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL, USA, where she contributed to the research of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patient fistula remodeling and atherosclerosis. She later joined the Laboratory of Dr. Hee Cheol Cho, Emory University, Atlanta, GA, USA, and Georgia Tech, Atlanta, where she worked on TBX18 de novo pacemaker cells from 2016 to 2020. She is currently working with Leica Microsystems, Boston, MA, USA.
