个人简介
Dr Narissa Bax works on Antarctic continental shelf and slope biodiversity, biogeography, connectivity, phylogenetics and conservation, primarily on deep sea corals. This work extends as a post-doctoral candidate to collaborate with the Antarctic Seabed Carbon Capture Change (ASCCC www.asccc.co.uk ) project which aims to understand the role of polar and sub-polar seabeds in the carbon cycle, particularly in response to climate change. In order to effectively achieve forward momentum in these diverse and complex areas of research the ability to collaborate at a high level to strategically manage projects, is essential and she has consistently illustrated an ability to do this across all levels of her research career. Post PhD this capacity was exemplified during the 2017 Antarctic Circumnavigation Expedition, her 5th Antarctic expedition, where she was the principal investigator for the final portion of the voyage for the ASCCC project. These ongoing affiliations place her as a connection point within the scientific community in Tasmania, and her research goals aim to further conservation efforts and broaden our understanding of marine biodiversity.
