个人简介
Dr Nandika Tsendbazar is currently working as a post-doc researcher. She finished her PhD at the same group in 2016. Her PhD thesis was entitled “Global land cover map validation, comparison and integration for different user communities”. During her PhD, she also worked on European projects such as Geocarbon and LC-CCI with focus on map validation and comparisons.
Currently, her focus is to design and develop validation datasets with help of experts from different regions of the world and conduct independent map validations and comparisons as part of the Copernicus Global Land Service funded by the European Commission.
Her current research interests are global land cover and change monitoring, (geo)statistical assessments of map accuracies, map comparison, land cover mapping as a tool for SDG monitoring and land degradation. In addition to her research and project responsibilities, she supervises MSc and PhD students and also helps with MGI courses such as Spatial Modelling and Statistics and Geoscripting.
A short background: Before coming to Wageningen, she completed a BSc in Geography at the National University of Mongolia and a MSc in GIS and remote sensing for natural resources management at faculty of ITC, University of Twente, Netherlands. She also worked as research assistant in Institute of Geography in Mongolia gaining experiences in pasture management and land degradation.
Projects
CGLOPS- 2016-2020; Global land cover mapping as part of the Copernicus Global Land Service
Proba-V MEP-TPS 2017-2018; Proba-V Mission Exploitation Platform—Third Party Services
Geocarbon- 2013-2014; Towards and operational global carbon observing system
LC-CCI- 2013-2014; Climate change initiative-Land Cover
