Nader Pourmand received the Ph.D. degree in experimental medicine from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, in 1999. In late 1999, he joined the Department of Biochemistry-Stanford Genome Technology Center, Stanford University, Stanford, CA, where he was a Senior Research Scientist until 2007. At the present, he is an Assistant Professor of Biomolecular Engineering, University of California, Santa Cruz. His research interest is to develop new tools and technologies, both biological and electronic, to detect and study genes and proteins.
