Works: Teacher, Researcher, & Reviewer
Dr. Nguyen Viet Long (N. V. Long) was born in Hung Yen City away from 60 km to Hanoi. After an undergraduate course, he had received Bsc. degree from Hanoi University of Education and Training in Physics (HNUE): Study and Diffusion Theory of AB alloys.
Then, he received MEg. Degree on Structures and properties of metal oxide semiconductor (MOS: Metal-oxide-semiconductor) for tunnel diodes and capacitors (1997-1999) with Prof Nguyen Duc Chien in Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Hanoi.
After that, he became a researcher in the field of XRD methods and crystal analysis (1999-2000). He continued to receive a doctorate degree in Photonic and optical materials SiO2, SiO2-Al2O3, a mixture of oxides materials doped with rare-earth ions (Nd, Er, Eu, Yb, etc) (2001-2007) with Prof N.D. Chien in Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi.
In fact, Dr. N.V. Long really started his scientific works with Prof Masayuki Nogami, an International scientist of sol-gel technology in Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITECH) as a postdoc research fellow in Nagoya City.
He had carried out the studies of catalytic materials by chemical methods, such as Pt, Ru, Rh, Ni, Co, Cu, Ag, Fe, and Pd based materials for PEMFC and DMFC (2010-2013) with Prof Masayuki Nogami (Japan), research and preparation of thermoelectric nanostructures with Prof Michitaka Ohtaki (Japan) at Kyushu University, Fukuoka City.
He continued to work on the synthesis of magnetic catalytic nanomaterials: Pt- and Fe-based metals and oxides nanoparticles with Prof Yong Yang (China) at Shanghai Institute of ceramics in Shanghai City.
He continued to work on the interesting topics of synthesis of soft- and hard-phase rare earth magnet nanomaterials with the original structures as AB (Alloys), AB2O4 (Spinel oxides), ABO3 (Perovskite), ThMn12, Th2Zn17, Th2Mn17, etc. or magnetic materials with the support of Prof Toshiharu Teranishi at Kyoto University, Kyoto City, Japan.
So far, he has become a reviewer for more than famous 40 international journals from the invitations of many publishers RSC, ACS, Springer, Elsevier, Hadawi, etc for evaluation and analysis of manuscripts submitted.
He was the head of Ceramics and biomaterials research group, Faculty of applied sciences, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Additionally, he is a member of the Editorial Board, International Journal of Nanomaterials, Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine, Peertechz, India.
In addition, he is a member of the Editorial Board, International Journal of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Graphy Publications, India.
