Career Trajectory
Bio
After completing my Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy and working for two years as a physiotherapist, I moved to Belgium to pursue a Master in Rehabilitation Sciences at the KU Leuven. During this time, I developed an interest in investigating neural control of movement.
After graduating, I began my research career under the supervision of Prof. Alice Nieuwboer in the Parkinson’s disease rehabilitation research team. My doctoral work focused on behavioral and neural markers of developing freezing of gait in Parkinson’s disease, as well as the effects of split-belt treadmill training on freezing.
During my postdoctoral research, I will continue to investigate the neural correlates of motor adaptation and the impact of motor adaptation training on the daily lives of people with Parkinson's disease.
