Matthew W. Urban (Senior Member, IEEE) was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in February 25, 1980. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD, USA, in 2002, and the Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester, MN, USA, in 2007. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Radiology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, Rochester, MN, and an Associate Consultant with the Department of Radiology, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. His current research interests are shear wave-based elasticity measurement and imaging applications, applications of acoustic radiation force, optical coherence elastography, and ultrasonic signal and image processing. Dr. Urban is a member of Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi. He is a fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and the Acoustical Society of America.
