Career Trajectory
Bio
Infectious disease researcher with an interest in epidemiology, ecology, and evolution of infectious pathogens at human-animal-ecosystem interfaces. My current research focuses on epidemiology and surveillance of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases that threaten human and animal populations. Our research lab aspires to understand the transmission dynamics, impacts, and implications of infectious disease emergence aiming to design effective strategies to contain the disease spread. Much of my research work focuses on bacterial and viral zoonoses including highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), anthrax, rotavirus, tuberculosis, leptospirosis, brucellosis, Q-fever, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, Nipah encephalitis, rabies, hepatitis E virus, poxvirus, and transboundary animal diseases. Moreover, I have also an interest in wildlife, biodiversity, human rights, global affairs, poetry, music, and sports. Broadly open to scientific and musical collaborations.
