Bio
Morgan is a Research Assistant Professor at Clemson University's Media Forensics Hub. His research is focused on the nexus of new technologies, urbanization, and crime, primarily in the Global South. Recently, he has examined the effects of the adoption of private security technologies in South Africa, how elections serve to signal support for incumbents to voters in authoritarian regimes, and how misinformation travels between online and offline community networks in the Global South. In addition to his research, he previously served as a Research Associate at the UW’s Center for an Informed Public (CIP) and as graduate fellow for the Center for Environmental Politics and Political Economy Forum.
