Bio
Morgan donnard has developed over the last 15 years a high expertise in metal-mediated transformations (Ru, Li, Cu, Pd, Rh) involving heteroatom-bearing substrates (O, N, S and more recently Si) in order to obtain complex molecules.
During his doctorate he notably developed unprecedented ruthenium catalyzed rearrangements of carbohydrates. In the team of Pr. Jonathan Clayden he has studied the first enantioselective organolithium-promoted rearrangement of ureas in order to synthesize quaternary carbon centres bearing an amine. With Dr. Nicolas Blanchard, he has worked on the rearrangement of ynamides in order to obtain fused polycyclic heterocycles. This work involved copper chemistry and cycloaddition reactions.
Since 2012, he is a CNRS senior researcher (CR). He first worked in the UMR 7200 (Laboratoire d'Innovation Thérapeutique) in Strasbourg (France) where he developed his own research projects around the synthesis of heterocycles using domino reactions. Finally, in 2018, he joined the UMR 7042 (Laboratoire d'Innovation Moléculaire et Applications).
Additionally, Morgan Donnard has been involved in the organizing committee of several international symposiums in organic chemistry, he is National Representative at IUPAC (Div. III Organic & Bioorganic) and is member of the board of the Organic Chemistry Division of the French Chemical Society.
