个人简介
My research work has focused on the study of Greco-Roman sculpture contributing to the advancement of three research areas: 1. Roman sarcophagi of the Iberian Peninsula 2. Roman sculptures manufactured in Hispanic workshops 3. Classical style sculpture in antiquarian collections. My continuous research training in diverse scientist teams and institutions (e.g. Ancient Stone Materials Team UAB 1989-1998; Archaeology/Territory Team Southampton University 1989-1990; site of Dion Thessaloniki University 1990; Zentrum für Altertumswissenschaften Trier Universität 2017; Deutsches Archäologisches Institut Marburg 1995-1996 and Berlin 2022) have provided me with methodological skills from art history, archaeology and geology from my Phd period, a multidisciplinary study perspective unusual at that time.
This procedure allowed to discriminate and characterize sculptural productions from Hispanic workshops that are important for the advancement of the knowledge of provincial Roman sculpture. The results of this research have been presented at the most renowned events in this specialty, such as the International Colloquium on Roman Provincial Art (17editions) or the International Meetings on Roman Sculpture in Hispania (10editions), a forum of great repercussion in Spain and abroad of which I have been a member of the scientific committee since 2016; I have published in national and international indexed journals, such as Archivo Español de Arqueología or Minerals: Insights from Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry and in indexed publications (SPI) such as Philipp von Zabern, CSIC or L'Erma di Bretschneider. I have contributed to the publication of the volumes of the Corpus Signorum Imperii Romani-España, an accredited project promoted by the International Association for Classical Archaeology, of whose Spanish faction I have been a member of its Scientific Committee and Permanent Commission since 1998, I have held the secretariat since 2016 and I will occupy the presidency in the coming months. Since 2005 we have applied this multidisciplinary methodology to sculptures from antiquarian collections (HUM2005-06914), improving the determination of the ancient or modern chronology of these works that are difficult to assign, opening a new line of study that we have continued through 2 more projects (HAR2009-10798, HAR2012-35861), with complementary actions (HAR2011-13560E, HAR2015-63199CIN) that consolidated our relationship with Italian, German and Austrian research teams. In the last mentioned project, we introduced the methodology of patina analysis, used in the field of conservation/restoration, but which we have innovatively developed to improve the examination of the age of the sculptures and to obtain data on their historical trajectory (HAR2017-84907P). Since 2013 we have been collaborating with the Antiquarian Portrait Team of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna (PI: Manuela Laubenberger) with whom we have produced several publications (e.g. ap. C.4.3), with those led by Beatrice Cacciotti (Università Roma-II) and Markus Trunk (Trier Universität), both members of my research team until 2017 and since then members of the working team; we collaborate with the director of the Corpus der Antiken Sarkophag Reliefs Guntram Koch (Marburg, Berlin) until his retirement and participate with scientific transfer events on the platform Toletum. Netzwerk Erforschung Iberischen Halbinsel in der Antike led by Sabine Panzram (Hamburg Universität) and since 2020 I am part of Martin Gallinier's international research team for the Signa-Narbo project (Université Montpellier). Scientific production of my research group is carried out in close collaboration with museums, notably the Museo del Prado, Museo Nacional Arqueológico de Tarragona, Fundación Duque de Medinaceli or Kunsthistorishes Museum Vienna, to which we transfer the results of our research and especially with the Museo de Arqueología de Cataluña where we organize exhibitions, activities for the dissemination of results and transfer. We work in close collaboration with the ArPA team at the Institut Català d'Arqueologia Clàssica (ICAC), in which I have participated since 2006 and to which I have been an associate researcher since the beginning of 2021, contributing as a lecturer on the interuniversity master's degree in Classical Archaeology (ICAC-UAB-URV) and as a doctoral thesis supervisor. I have supervised 6 PhD theses and 4 are in progress, 2 in co-supervision with the Università di Roma II, another with the Federico II di Napoli and another with Ca'Forcari di Venezia. I am a corresponding academic of the Reial Academia de Bones Lletres and evaluator of the AGAUR and the ANEP projects and of specialized articles in journals such as LUCENTUM, SPAL, AEArq, Zefirus, Tiempo y Forma, among others.
