Career Trajectory
Bio
My research focuses on second-order urban cybernetics, the study of the system of interdisciplinary systems – a characteristic of urban agglomerations and utility infrastructures. I am interested in the modelling, simulation and optimisation of the interactions between buildings, cities, regions and utility systems – to enhance their resource efficiency while not negatively impacting societal and environmental wellbeing. Research impact arises from new insights through scenario-based assessments and the development of new methods, processes and tools to enhance the policy and practice of sustainability. I work with big data, and I am keen to engage with the public and academic community to better understand their needs and to enhance access to data and insights.
