Studies of the structural and functional organization of plants, also in relation to their interactions with the environment, recently focused on:
- Evaluation of the morphogenetic and genotoxic effects of stress induced by metals on model plants and crops.
- Assessment of the potential impact of metal nanoparticles in agricultural soils and aquatic systems, with particular attention to the interactions of these contaminants with model plants, plants of agronomic interest and macrophytes.
- Bio- and phyto-remediation of solid and liquid matrices and monitoring of remediation processes through the use of higher plants.
- Nanoplastics as contaminants of particular concern for plants and agroecosystems.
