Her research interest is working with emergent bilingual students. She researches interventions to support literacy and biliteracy development for emerging bilingual students. In addition, she is interested in teacher preparation, particularly as it relates to equipping educators with skills and competencies to meet the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse exceptional learners, family-school partnerships, and MTSS.
