个人简介
During my research career, I have focused on the development and implementation of laser applications for the fabrication of electronic devices with special emphasis on biosensors and high efficiency photovoltaic devices.
I obtained my PhD at the University of Barcelona in 2007, where my research concerned the use of laser direct writing for biosensor preparation. I did a stay at the Naval Research Laboratory of the USA, where I was trained on laser direct-writing for applications in printed-electronics. Subsequently, I obtained a postdoc position at the Laser Center of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where I managed experimental activities related to the improvement of photovoltaic devices (crystalline silicon and thin film) by means of laser applications. In 2010, I joined the Micro-Nanotechnology Group at the Polytechnic University of Catalunya, where I was in charge of the laser facilities and of the coordination of the laser-related experiments. In this period, my research was directed to crystalline silicon solar cells with an emphasis on laser doping for selective emitters and back contact formation. Afterwards, in 2014, I joined CETEMMSA Technologic Center, where I had a Project Manager position coordinating 2 European Projects.
My contributions have resulted in 31 scientific publications (being always the author who coordinated the design and development of the laser based processes) in the areas of nanotechnology and electronic devices and, particularly, in biosensors and photovoltaics. 17 of these publications have been published in journals belonging to the 1st quartile of their respective fields. These publications have resulted in an h-index of 15 and 1115 citations (Google Scholar). I have also contribute 20 works at International Conferences (2 of them invited presentations) in the area of electronic devices. Moreover, I have acted as a reviewer for international journals in my field of expertise such as Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells.
I have co-supervised one PhD thesis in the area of laser for photovoltaics and I am currently co-directing two further PhD thesis. I have participated in 10 research projects (4 of them European and 6 national involving demonstration and pilot projects) with increasing management task. The results of my research have given place to 3 patent applications in the field of laser applications for electronic devices and nanotechnology (PCT/ES2018/070064, WO2014080052A1 and ES2443240R1). One of them is owned by Abengoa Solar, thus showing that technology has been already transfer to the industry.
