Molecular models and synthetic organic chemistry. I am leading the research activity in the field of organic synthesis within the Plant Plasticity Center.
Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences Chemical synthesis and structural characterization of nucleosides, nucleotides and carbohydrates.
Organic chemistry at the interface to biology, e.g. chemical synthesis of complex oligosaccharides for use in biochemical studies of starch biosynthesis and degradation and/or chemical synthesis of oligosaccharides for gene discovery in the bioactive plant glycopolymer biosynthesis and cyanogenic glucosides, hydroynitrile gucosides and intermediates in their formation for elucidation of biosynthetic-pathways and enzymatic activity involved in production of bio-active natural products in plants.
