Bio
Dr. Alkhaldi was trained in social and global public health policy. He received his Doctor of Public Health
Policy and Systems from the University of Basel, the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) in
Switzerland where he led a comprehensive system analysis of the National Health Research System in several
countries. During 15 years in global public health, Dr. Alkhaldi has engaged in three different sectors,
contributing to the development of health policies in the public sector; teaching and research; and NGO health
projects and programs. He has played a leadership and advisory role at the global and regional levels in public
health emergencies, HPSR, evidence-informed policymaking, HRSs, KTT, and digital health and HTA. He has
served as an international expert and scientific collaborator on a number of committees and missions and has
participated in multiple international organizations related to social and global health policy and systems
strengthening. Among these organizations are the WHO, COHRED, HSG, University of Basel-Swiss TPH,
McGill University, Canadian Association for Global Health, Canadian Society for International Health,
Emerging Voices for Global Health, and An-Najah National University. He is a member of the Higher Council
for Innovation and Excellence of the State of Palestine. He is also a member and reviewer of the Editorial Boards
of various international journals. He has traveled to and lectured in nearly 30 countries; published more than 50
articles in scientific journals, books, book chapters, policy analyses, reports, and popular media. Dr. Alkhaldi is a
postdoctoral researcher of the Health System Impact Fellowship funded by the CIHR affiliated with McGill
University and he is leading local and international research projects that aim at evaluating and strengthening the
HTA, digital health technologies, and Value-based Healthcare in HMLICs. Dr.Alkhaldi also served the
UNICEF-MENA regional office as a consultant to support documenting the MENA PHC accelerator
implementation and planning. Dr. Alkhaldi is currently a member of a global research team that was shaped to
run a multi-site global study on Alzheimer's through a collaboration between Bridgeable, Mitacs, and Davos
Alzheimer’s Collaborative-World Economic Forum. Currently, Dr. Alkhaldi is an assistant professor in global
public health at Canadian University in Dubai teaching and researching topics in public health policy and
systems.
