个人简介
Mohammad Rashed Alam Bhuiyan is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Dhaka. Currently he is pursuing his PhD in CTPSR, Coventry University under Dr. Katharine Jones, Professor Heaven Crawley and Dr, Esra Kaytaz. In his PhD he is working on 'In what ways do migration intermediaries contribute to precarity and inequality in labour migration? Case study of Bangladesh to Malaysia migration corridor'. His research questions includes : What types of experiences do Bangladeshi labour migrants face during the process of migration and working and living in Malaysia? Which of these can be defined as ‘precarious? To what extent migration intermediaries are responsible for exposing migrants to precarity?
His expertise lies studying various forms of Internal and International Migration, Adaptation to Climate Change, Sustainable and Inclusive Urban Development, Migrants' rights and Well-being and on the issues of Political Economy, International Trade and Finance. Previously, he served RMMRU as a Research Associate. He has worked across several research projects in collaboration with the University of Exeter, University of Sussex, University of Southampton and other research units, primarily focused on International Labour Migration, Internal Migration (Climate-Induced Migration & Displacement), Adaptation to Climate Change, Sustainable Cities and Inclusive Urban Development.
